Portland Oregon and "Bike boxes"

This From the "World Changing" site. I really like this idea for San Francisco... If Portland and Vancouver and The Netherlands... It makes great sense to protect Cyclists (removing cars from dense urban areas might help to). Check the Oregonian news write up on it. No Long winded proto-idealism from me on this.

A world without people

Nice interview with writer Alan Weisman about his new book "The World without Us." I know the gardens that I work in would be over run in a few months with intervention... To think of the cities of enormous infrastructure without electric machines and weed killer. NIce thought if I could be here to enjoy it.

Buckminster Fuller

This has to be the best collection of Buckminster Fuller audio any where (bucky wiki). Simply not Enough time to digest his genius. "Bucky" has long been a personal hero of mine... it seems now people are just catching up to his ideas. The talk is a great use of time.

Organic Bees not affected

Read this today, the mysterious Honey Bee die off not affecting organic honey bees. Quote from story "...and no one in the organic beekeeping world, including commercial beekeepers, is reporting colony collapse on this list. The problem with the big commercial guys is that they put pesticides in their hives to fumigate..." One more reason for being organic...
